Meet detectives from the Grand Rapids Police Department, tour their Crime Scene van and learn about different equipment they use to collect evidence to help solve the crime! Also participate in crafts for all ages including fingerprint character creation and examine hairs and fibers under the lens of a microscope!

Kent County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Stephen D. Cohle and true-crime writer Tobin T. Buhk will be at the Museum to present their newest collaborative book Skeletons in the Closet. It recounts 21 riveting, real-life autopsy stories, each with a unique forensic twist.At 12:30 and 1:30 pm GRPD Detective Erika Fannon will explain "what it takes to crack a cold case." She'll revisit some of the sensational local cases once again making news and discuss what cold case teams are able to do that original detectives are not. Activity stations will also be open for fingerprint characters and microscope investigations.
